Web vs. Print
Making the right Environmental Choice
Since April 20, 2010, the world has been watching the ongoing effects of the catastrophic oil well blowout in the Gulf of Mexico.
The BP situation is an unfortunate and extreme example of the outcome decisions can have on the environment. Whether you are a multi-billion dollar company or a small local business, your choices will have an environmental impact – including those made for marketing and promotional purposes.
What impact have your decisions made?
Over the last few years, companies have largely shifted their focus to promote sustainable communication strategies. Some have decided to choose FSC certified stocks and eco-friendly inks for their printed materials, while others have chosen to shift their focus to online marketing tools.
But wait! Is taking print out of your mix a more sustainable choice? Is it really more environmentally friendly to send an email, than to mail a printed letter? What’s the carbon footprint of printing a catalogue vs. downloading it from the web?
Take a look below for some eye-opening facts!
In truth, every communication piece has an environmental impact, as well as a purpose (with print holding a very special place in my heart!). The responsibility lies in making choices that are best for the environment yet effectively drive profits; choices that include the right combination of print and web based marketing, intentionally leveraging the purpose of each medium to result in the highest ROI.
Make the right choice!
At Kempenfelt Graphics, we continue to offer our clients sustainable solutions that bring together the right mix of print and web communication tools.
